kinda just looks like some box tubeing, some c clamps and an axle to me. but you're right, that is something. i kid. i kid.
Its going to be a steel bodied car looking a lot like a deuce with the same frame dimensions, although I did pinch the front about 3", Im not going to have normal frame horns. I am building the body myself (cant afford a brookville) Superbell 4" front, coilovers at back. A SBC/ TH350 with a 9" ford rear. Frame is 4 x 2 x 3/16 wall with 1/8" x 4" plate welded on the outside and 1 x 1 tubing at the very bottom . The side plates take the shape of the body. Who knows, I have been thinking this one out for about 6 months before I started
It looks like you really are going to build the body - WAY TO GO! Keep us posted on how and what you're up to. There's a lot of cheerleaders on here to keep you motivated if you'll post pics regularly.
Hey 10K + for a body just aint in the budget! I figure to have maybe less than a thousand in materials for the frame and body. Plus there aint nothing like DIY. Its one of those things you enjoy doing but after its done, you probably wont want to do it again
The body frame work is coming along. I am working on the cowl at this point. I will take some new pics after the long weekend. I did pickup a 350 turbo trans to go with the SBC and a 54" wide rear end recently. I should be able to mock up the engine and trans mounts soon. looking for: Vega steering box, used or rebuildable OK
Got some accomplished on the hotrod this weekend. The TIG welding is getting much better, I think Im getting the hang of it now. By the time I get this done I should be dam near a pro.
An update on the body build I havent got a whole lot done this week, I am working on the cowl section trying to get it right before moving on. Here are some pics
Thanks, Im trying to get this thing running this fall for a local meet. I have to start putting in more hours on it though. Bob
