I'm the proud to be 3rd owner of this beautiful 1962 Chevy c10. Plans are to do a mild restoration (my style).

Man, they are still out there. What a beauty. You just can't beat old american trucks.

Have fun with it. I sold my vintage shell on ebay. Had lots of interest.

I know its kinda crazy but Its kinda sad when you let a big ole ugly camper shell go, especially if its been on a old truck like that for a long time,Its kind of like its loosin part of its history and interest.
I would take it off too but it does kind of turn into just another truck after that, even tho it makes it look better, that back bumper would have to go too, same deal as the camper shell tho.
Patch up the holes in the fenders and fix up the bed side and try to blend some matching paint and your golden.
I like it even if you never touch it at all, thats just my 02

yeah, I'm planning on minor cosmetic changes to the exterior. like you said, fix the bed and holes and match the paint.

here's my inspiration for the seat. I wear nothing but Pendletons. Just received my fabric from the factory today.

my $5 solution to fix the front fenders:
cut some sheet metal I had laying around, then shaved and shaped to fit
prepped the patch panel and truck for installation
attached using some high end 3M VHB tape I had laying around
color matched with some $5 satin Khaki Krylon paint from ACE hardward
    here's the end result

Heck if it works for you,it works for me but ya could throw some tack welds around it and smooth over it a little with some putty, sand it out, then reshoot for a more finished look.

I will hafta say I think it looks better than the rusty hole, reguardless.
