  10. Were the correct doors in the pickup bed full of parts when you brought it home, or did you find them later? It's coming along well.

One door came with it, the drivers door did to but it is a 29 door. Could not find one close, so re skinned the 29 door, and made it like a 30 door.

Really coming along well, but you need to rethink those long front spring shackles. Looks like you are trying to use an early spring with a late 40's Ford axle and are taking up the mismatch with those shackles. It really is going to give you some headaches and ill handling down the road unless you swap over to a 28-34 axle that has the right perch to perch dimension for that spring.

Just trying to keep you from having to redo it after the car is done.

They are only on there until I find the right front spring. I put them on there so I could set it up and move it around. You got a good eye.

Oh good. Hope you didn't mind the suggestion. :)

You may be able to find a long enough spring but using the later Ford axles is sometimes problematic due to the wide spacing between the spring perch holes. I understand Posies makes a wider one, but have never confirmed that. That is why most people simply go with a 28-34 axle that fits the spring you already have, plus it gives a little more turning room for the tires as the wishbones are moved inward a few more inches.

You have done miracles with the body already, that thing was rough in the beginning but looks great now. Doesn't look like this is your first rodeo.

Did you by any chance save the 29 skin or atleast the bead roll? I could really use that on my a project

  19. That's a nice shade of blue, George- you'll need to bring that down to Brad54's swap when it's done :D!!!

George...That bed is beautiful! Body sure turned out as well.
That spring can be used, at least most leaves: Go to a standard auto spring shop, have them make you a new main leaf and second-and-third leaves. Five or six total, spring leaves are generally about $30 for the main with rolled eyes, others $15-$20.

Here is the picture of the engine. This is it . will be a few weeks before I can work on it again. I need to finish putting the engine in my hill climb speedster. I would like to sell it. Then I got some other commitments.

That cab wasn't exactly what I was expecting to see in a "barn find" thread, but you've kicked it ass!
    Nice work!
