The moment of truth for my first nailhead rebuild. <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hx9ZuSikS8Y&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed>
NICE...hope you didn't empty your bank acct...lol seriously, looks and sounds great. love the pic of the engine on the stand in your album
Hence the emoticons. I do wonder why it wasn't timed before starting. Pretty damned easy to do and Nailheads aren't other motors, they have a very lumpy idle so people that time them by ear usually get it off a bit.
I got the sarcasm. I think we had it pretty close before we started it, but when it didn't pop right off my dad started jacking with it...turned out the problem was a weak battery, I hooked up a charger on the 50 amp quick start setting right before that video begins. I've got it at 12 degrees advanced, just like the factory. The cam gives it a nice idle, but you can't hear that in the video. The ST400 swap is about done and when I get the car back in my garage I'll finish wiring it and put the interior back together and drive it for a while. Body and paint will have to wait for the price of natural gas to go back up.
