This is my Model A project. Been working on it for about a year and a half hope to have it done in spring. It will be gloss black, 57' 283 with a turbo 350. It is a $7000 budget build and I 'm doing pretty good. My dad and I made the frame, its a NON HAMB friendly glass body.

I like it, it may not be full of rust but you have the "look" nailed down.

RISER...your 1 lucky young man. your dad definatly know's what he's doing. so please listen and learn my friend. O and by the way, it doesn't matter 1 bit about the glass body. hell son it didn't hurt the willis. O YEA i can tell, but the good side is never worring about rust. and i believe you will be close to the $7,000.00 mark. but you will go over a smidge...POP.

Lets see, drum brakes, wishbones, old style draglink, ibeam axle, added frame horns and vintage steering box....nice choices. Alot of steel bodied cars don't run some of those traditional parts, glass or not it has the right stance and looks great.

Thanx for the compliments. I was going for the late 50's early 60's look. Also can some one maybe suggest a tire size for the rear, I was think 820/15's.
    iafraser39 It is a F1.

  18. Both look real good. Like the stances. What part of Ohio are you from?

Yes it is. My Dad is awesome. Some times we don't see eye to eye. But he always has a way to persuade me to his side.

    I am located in Cincinnati.

That can't be a glass firewall? Looks like real steel. Have fun and enjoy the project with you Dad. I am building mine with my 27 year old son. Look forward to finishing someday. Whose light/shock mounts are those?

I just turned 27 in December. It would have been done sooner but I had my son in August so that took away some time. The firewall and gas tank are original Henry steel. I am actually going to use the tank to simplify my fuel lines.

I don't know who makes them. I was at a local shop getting a steering coupler and they were laying at the bottom of a shelf covered in dust. They are stainless and only cost me $75.

The arm is a F1 that we heated and bent to clear the wishbone.

Could I make the suggestion to move the lower shock mounts to the outside of the spring perch to get a little more angle on the shocks? Looks a little odd being so straight up and down...

An F1 uses a tapered spline on the shaft with a nut on the outside to tighten the pitman arm onto the shaft.
To my knowledge there isn't a pinch bolt thru the pitman arm.

Thats the style of an F100 which has a half splined straight shaft and a notch for the pinchbolt to prevent the pitman arm from coming off the shaft unless the pinch bolt is completely removed...yet it doesn't really look like an actual F100 arm to me either.

I'm not convinced you have an F100 pitman arm on an F1 box...but I am convinced something is a little odd.
I'd be making absolutely sure that pitman arm spline is compatable with the splines on the shaft before I drove anywhere!

Not a dig...just looking out for your hide! :)

The splines match up perfectly its nice and solid. The arm is splined half way around with a pinch bolt on the top. The shaft on the steering box has a groove for the bolt to slide through. I assure you its not going anywhere I made sure of that.

I like it a lot, except for the engine/frame mounts, those look scary and kinda yucky. Not trying to rag on ya, but I think a Hurst saddle mount would look great up there!
