So I bought a small mini storage a few months back, and ended up flipping it. The guy I bought it off of is a very good older buddy of mine. He tells me he's got a 51 chevy sport coupe he needs to get rid of... I'm all ears at that point. Didn't know what condition it was in, been in his family since new and he's owned it since 1972! The whole time he's had it it's been in storage somewhere in a barn for 20+ years then in this min storage for the last 12 years. So we meet at the storage to check it out after he got all the stuff out of the unit and we could see it, previously all I could see was the pass headlight and the driver door mirror. So this is what I ended up finding... So first things in order.... Clean up and new shoes!!! Just happen to have these setting around! The only rust I could find, other than under the battery box. And this isn't that bad at all. And a quick washing... I'm soaking the cylinders now so I can try and fire it up sunday. As we were looking at the car in the storage unit he proceeds to tell me it was overhauled less than 30K miles ago?? Score!! It was stuck just a little and I broke it lose by hand! All the wiring is in pretty good shape with just a little bit of exposed wires, I'm going to chase them all down tomorrow and wrap them all before I start it!
