My MERC !!!!!!

    Hope this works ,,trying to post my ride !!!!!!!Just got it a week ago!!!!Its been in storage since 1983 !!!!Started the flathead up and surprising it runs great after a little carb cleaning!!

    The body is as rust free as you could ask for,, so sand it down and primer for now !!! The last guy took it all apart so I think for now I"ll put it back togther and have fun with it for a while!!!

    To CHOP or not to CHOP ???? I chopped the Black 51 in my profile a few years ago !!They look so bad when chopped!!!!

    I think I agree !!!!!No CHop !!!!! The chopped one is gone !!!!Sold it about 8 months ago !!!Seller's remorse and had to have another one!!!! I found this one about 5 miles from my house !!! New of the car but didn't think it would ever be sold!!!

    Welcome to the Hamb family and congrats on a very cool car...stance is perfect.I do love chopped Mercs but this looks cool as it is already...some minor mods and enjoy it on the road...
    Also since you're a newbie introduce yourself in the proper space and dont forget the Hamb Merc club...PM (private message ) Bad Bob and he'll tell ya...have fun!!

  15. I understand the remorse. So a Merc about 19 years ago and been sheding tears over ever since. For the time being I'd just get a coat of something on that thing and drive the crap out of it.

    Always did love those Mercs ! they just had that Bad-ass stance to them . You got really lucky this time with this one . rust free and that nice looking ! Way to go !
    As for to chop or not chop , well you already know the answer and those Mercs so soooooo...damn great with a chop !
    Keep us posted and paint this one !

    Dunno about your area, but around here, every body shop in every town has a 'glass chopped merc out front! You go to a ton of work to make yours "different" and everybody thinks its a tupperware toy. Buffalo Joe in Yellowknife even left a little patch of rust on his Merc so people would know it was real!
    In case you haven't got it yet, my vote is, NO CHOP!
