Here's my first traditional hotrod build.Started with a 1930 Model A sedan chassis and susp. 1937 flathead 21 stud with alum heads.35 ford 16 " wire wheels,36 packard grille,38 chevy headlight buckets, dash i found in a yard sale. Still looking for a 39 trans,39's my cutoff yr.Found the cowl on a logging job ,still don't know what it is, has a 4 digit firewall tag.I built the rest of the body,it's steel as i went. Good therapy for a bad divorce.
The Jalopies coming together...great stuff Badgass. I think every Hotrodder needs one of these in the collection for those in the wind sprints. Look forward to your interesting vision.
Heres some more pic's,guess i should have made one file, there all over my comp. Sucks to be old and can't adapt to tech advances, still using a flip phone,5th one.
Hey @badgascoupe ya got us all wrong we get bored when there's not enough pictures.... Hey thats coming together nicely. It sort of reminds me of something that might have appeared in a Vintage Mechanix Illustrated and that is not meant in a negative way. Hope your better soon sir...
Thank You Stogy, I'm trying to build something that a young guy in the late 30's/early 4o's would have built, my Dads generation.
I really like the shape of the tail, it tapers down but still has the peak in the center full-height, very clever, what are those panels from? And what did those giant louvered hood sides come from, some kind of farm machinery? I agree that it does look like a Pop Mechanics build from the 30's or 40s, very cool and very historically accurate, looking forward to seeing more.
Happy Easter everyone! Well I've gotten a little done on the speedster(life gets in the way too much). Changed out the 18" wheels for 16's,the interior is cherry lumber that I sawed out 30 yrs ago, hoped to make it look like an old boat inside.Got the hood together, have to add a cpl extra braces to keep firmer.
See that,I'll need my niece to make it work.I'm too computer inept, got some to post on my 31 truck and now I can't make it work.
