Good to see this one together, the car looks great. I've checked in on this thread a few times but missed the paint job until now. Great budget, I've scrounged a few cars out myself, swapping and trading, but never ended up at $1.
What's next in line, what are you guys gathering parts for now?

Not a whole lot of new progress to report, she's got a headliner and new carpets bought along with enough patterned vinyl to build door panels out of, and a stash of paid for "stuff" to sell to fund the rest of the car, but the car is tucked into her garage for the winter and we haven't had much chance to work on it since summer. We plan on jumping back into it this spring. Will definitely post updates as the interior goes together.

Great thread, sorry I missed it when it first started. Buying & selling car parts and whatever collectables is the fun way to pay for your car. Bob

We replaced some bad throttle linkage, fixed an oil line that got broken in the process, added a temp gauge and bypassed the heater core, took it for a ride a couple weeks ago. Still not much for interior but we take whatever little progress we can get. Went to the park, there's my girl's smiling face driving it, it's the farthest the car has traveled so far. Going to take it to it's first show this weekend.

Well done! Love the trim and the color. The Story speaks for itself and really makes the car even more special. Thanks for the good read.

Just paraphrased the story for my wife and we scanned through the pics. She loves it!

Great job. I love the budget build. My avatar is my budget build. No paycheck money involved, just flea marketing and parts swapping and lots of time. Have been driving it for about 10 years now, had for 28 years now. Have less than 8 grand in it and period correct except for and alternator and hei ignition. I budget build a 276 flathead for it. Drive it all over. Enjoy you story, keep it up.
