I decided to make a pleated headliner my first headliner in a friends 49 ford. I did the rest of the car back in july Ive been trying to teach my self to do this sewing thing for the past 9 or 10 months. Anyway heres what i came up with, Pictures are off my cellphone so kinda crappy.
Work looks real nice man.Geeez if youve only been doing it for 8-9 months you nailed it.Imagine after a few years awesome job man!!
If i were a betting man... I would say that's BS... looks really good even for someone who has done it several times... Congrats man, that is definately something to be proud of
Wow. Looks like you taught yourself very well. The whole interior looks great. The headliner is awesome though.
Cool, Thanks a bunch. No bullshit though. Ive read i think all ur techs gill, so thanks a bunch for those. Your work is one of the best i have seen. Thanks again for the comments. I was kinda scared to post them up, i get real paranoid, haha. all post some more pictures of what i have done.
Looks ok I guess... Seriously, that is killer! It's nice to be able to accomplish things for yourself like that and not have to rely on someone else.
Wow, thats what i would like to have on my lowrider project, but because i cant do it and would cost me about 8/900 bucks at my local shop i decided i will go angel hair until i can pay for it (pretty long time probably ). Now, i'd like to know what "tools" i need to do such a job and what material swits best, im pretty handy and can learn pretty much anything. You convinced me i can. Plus i'd like to say that nobody but me built my car. Beautiful btw, hope i'll manage half of your quality.
Geebers man, that is fcking spot on. Awesome job, and you only been doing it ten months? Your a natural, the next Tony Nancy. Doc.
That is well done , I have two sewing machines that I have not figured out how to thread yet , much less actually sew with,,,
Nice work Man, I'd say you nailed it! Did you use the old liner as a pattern, otherwise I don't know you could have put that one together. You should have no problem finding plenty of jobs to keep you busy. Good luck in building a business.
That's really beautiful, got any pictures of you in action or the machine you used? I think a lot of use could learn a few things from you.
Beautiful job!!! My car is going in for my upholstery guy to do the headliner next week...I sure wish I had talent like you so I could do it myself!!
What he is not telling everyone is all the "FUN" it is to manage that much material thru the machine at the same time..and keep the stitching straight...Looks good !!!!
Thats the whole reason i wanted to learn. I had the interior done in my plymouth and was thinking it would be nice to be able to do it myself. So i baught a machine from the guy that did my interior two weeks later and un loaded it in my garage and started pulling my friends 53 chevy truck seat apart that same day. This was the first thing i had ever tryed sewing. Ive used a sewing machine before like in middle school, but i say them homeech machines are a little diffrent. I dont think i have done anything for myself yet. I did end up using the old headliner for a pattern. The back part had to be changed cause of the chop on the car. As of right now i am keeping pretty busy, someday all do something for myself. No i have no pictures of me in action. I use a singer 111 w 155 i believe. Thanks man, whenever.
some years back when i had the interior put in chubbie, I told her what i wanted. She told me she wouldn't do it, because it would look like it came out of the "50s!!! so we compromised. so its close to original. I do like it, but she told me it's the ugliest interior she'd ever done! so the model A I did my self, to get what i wanted!!!! I told her where I wanted it sewen and did the rest myself!!!! Great job, looks great! It was once said " I just love the feel of tuck and roll!" "now peel out!"
