just read through this whole thread and learned a LOT that i would soon be asking about otherwise! in the process of dealing on a '51 Tudor and trying to gather as much info as i can... this one thread is a gold mine.
love the color, makes a chunky car look svelte!

That looks quite a bit lighter green than the stock color. Is it?

well, I've learned few things about the flat clear coat. It's the same as using single stage paint. If you have sages, you have to wet sand the sags and re-coat. I had sags in the trunk, hood and one on the side panel.I tryed to compound the spots to blend them in but they were too shinny. Now I'll wet sand the whole car ,1200 grit, re-tape and paper and re- spray. This time I'll pay more attention to the gun settings and address the sags, if any, with a sag file.....
on the positive side, I'm real pleased the car looks real straight, I was concerned about that aspect...

got her all wet sanded with 1000 grit....next take the back bumper off, tape and paper her...
I decided too also hit her with another coat of color, just to make sure the color is uniform.....

the paint job turned out pretty good.......I'm not too happy with my filler work on some spots. I see I need more light in the garage...but all in all I'm happy with her.....

Why did you do the paint and bodywork, paint it a stock color, then use a flat clear?

Please understand, this is NOT a criticism, I'm just curious. Most fellas that go to that much effort want it shiny, or at least pick a custom color.

I don't like shinny on a old car or truck... I've always liked the sea mist green...to me it looks like a custom color......
my next two builds are going to be bare metal body's ,coated with clear coat......
don't worry about criticizing me....nobody can beat me up better than me.......
