Fantastic! You've got a great attitude compared to most kids I've met your age. ;) You've got a good eye and I wish you and your dad all the best with your build.

BTW, kudos to your dad for letting you have such a kick ass car for your first ride! Mine was a lame '78 Corolla!!

Nice ride, and good luck with the project. You will learn a ton and have a leg up on your peers that are into cars because you'll actually understand how it all works. Back when computers didn't control things, they built everything better and with more mechanical parts. The more you learn about these old machines, the more you'll appreciate cars in general. Hats off to your Pops for letting you into the hobby early and giving you a good foundation. Cheers!

Yep, that '53 looks great. It had the bullet delete center which was an aftermarket item- I do know that Cal Custom made at least some of them. I've had my eye peeled for a while for my '53. It would be great to run the bullet for a while and switch it up for a bit as well.

Your first car is special, keep it forever. I bought my first car in 1971, a 1958 ford, I was 13, paid $150 for it and I still have it today. I made a promiss to my Dad that if he let me buy the 58 I would keep it forever and I will ! So good luck with your car and most of all enjoy it with your Dad!

Good to see this car back on the road. I have pics of me at 12 years old next to my '53 Mainline 2 door sedan, which I still have. Should look real nice with the chrome wheels on it.
