Awesome nice project a big thumbs up from me I love father and son projects I've built a few with my dad all o/t. Sadly he's not into hotrods so apart from the occasional help on my willys I'll be doing it alone

Love the pics, new and old, really nice post. You're a lucky guy, enjoy every minute of every day you can with your dad.
From your post, I'd say you already know that.
    Thanks for posting.

Your dad must be a happy type guy. He is grinning in all of those pictures of him both past and present, probably a cool guy to be around.

Also nice shoebox Coupe, what are your plans?

  17. Be thankful for your time with your dad. My father and I finally got to be somewhat friendly when I was 64 years old. He died 10 years ago at 88 years old. I am now 78 years old, and I miss the short time we were friendly. 4 years was too short.

We are planning on doing a 50’s style restoration with it slightly modified original flathead and overdrive original trans. Body mods will include shaved door handles and trunk lid with fender skirts. So of to my friends body shop for blasting, medal and body work while we work on the components so me pop and my brother will do the reassemble. I promise to keep post of the project as she unfolds IMG_2239.jpg IMG_2236.jpg IMG_2235.jpg IMG_2251.jpg

  19. Yes as others have said, cherish these times in your life as you are truly blessed. It looks like a real solid start but the blasting will tell the story. I love the shoebox Fords and have my '51. Welcome and definitely keep us up to date with the repairs.

I fondly remember turning wrenches with my late father when I was a kid. Even at being just short of turning 69 I miss my parents. So enjoy every minute you can with him.

Same here, my father had no interest in my car hobby. Thought it was stupid and a waste of time and money. A lot of insults and jokes hurled my way. Wow, at 84,enjoy your Pop. I am envious!!!!!!
