I checked that thing out at bonneville a few times...pretty wild. Whole motor trans and rear end were mounted on a swingarm. I think it was driven from Illinois.

Two things caught my eye. First was the cooler. Is this thing a Sunday driver? Gotta wonder what's in it.

The second was the 'bud vase' on the dash. This guy obviously has a great sense of humor as well as Titantic sized kahonies.

Amen to the budvase. The other got-to-have accesory is the greentipped turn signal. Definately a cool sense of humor. What you missed in the article in Hot Rod is that he DROVE the damned thing from somewhere in Pennsylvania to the salt. I've got to meet this guy. The boys on Samba had their undies in an uproar a few months ago about this bus. My new hero!

Kenny Prather DRIVES the shit out that thing. We hung out all week at Bonneville and then traveled as far east as Laramie with him before we split. Super nice guy with a great sense of humor.

Out of all the killer rides at the Hop-Up cookout Bob Pierson wanted a ride in it and Vincent wanted to shoot it.

    Cool.

Just bad ass, that's all I gotta say. Wonder what the record on the salt for a VW bus is, not that that car is set up for it? The article says the bus was a Hippie van before the dude cut it up and made it cool.

I'll never forget that trip Ben. I talked to Iowa Mike yesterday....and he said Kenny
will probably make the trip again with us if there are more gas stations to visit.
