    Sooooo close to wrapping up my lil' street buggy. Here it is.....I present the S.S. Fishbone!!

    Unknown body on a 14.5" shortened '57 pan. 40 horse engine, lots of chrome! haha
    I narrowed the beam 2" each side and we put an adjuster in only the upper torsion tube and I eliminated the anchor out of the lower tube, 'cause buggys are so light, one stack of leaves is probably going to be fine. I lowered the back 2 notches. Some wiring and it will be ready to go! Anyone in Phoenix wanna help with the electric stuff?

    Oh, here are the wheels and caps for the pickup....whutcha think on that?!
    '36 4.5 inchers up front and massive 5 inchers on the back ala large truck wheels. '40 caps.

    Well, back to work!!

    A lowered dune buggy? Isn't that counter-intuitive? How about adapting a set of those caps to the wide bolt pattern VW wheels? The orange would even work with that green.

    I've always wanted to build a little street buggy like that. Looks like a lot of fun, just in time for summer too.

    HA That's right, Charlie was becoming a dune buggy tycoon. That messy little cult thing kinda got in the way.

  12. That rocks!!! Always love glass buggies. Still alot of them out there if you look around. Todd

  13. Hard to beat a manx type buggy on the street. No weight and instant hook up.

    But Day Am that cage looks high - are you 6'13 or something?

  17. Get those firewall pieces put in and get the truck on the road. Manx is cool just needs a 2 liter in it so you can pull wheelie's

    Now I'm starting to wonder.....you all realize the wheels are for my '37 pickup and NOT the buggy....right?

    Nice toy; Ive one myself;

    /\
    Pic above as found/bought/horse-traded for -Its rather rough, but is a genuine late 60s GP mk1 Buggy; the buggy 'craze' didnt really catch on here, so its 'a rare find'...

    ...since Ive been into aircooled vws for awhile, i have all the parts to build it, bar headlights... havent done much to it since getting it a year ago, bar some glass repairs; its needs a lotta 'glass repair...

    Best of luck with yours, and the 36!
