Getting there bit by bit. This weekends accomplishments are as follows:-
Lots of sanding and Polishing to finish off the door hinge side which attach to the body.
    IMG_5430.jpg IMG_5427.jpg
Then more polishing on the swing windshield hinges and of course, fitting the windshield.
    IMG_5432.jpg IMG_5433.jpg
Then came fitting of the rear windshield.
    IMG_5437.jpg
The Seatbelts were trial fitted. They needed a L Bracket to mount the re-tractor at the bottom, which is bolted to the Chassis through the body Hot Rod seat belt.jpg
Finally, I greased and fitted the Cable wipers.
    IMG_5438.jpg
I was wondering, before I go into trial and error, does anyone know which holes on the cam the wiper cable should attach to for the wiper arc. I'm thinking I'll start with the bottom few (in the pic). The closest to the centre of the cam must be shorter arc.

Heater Shell and Steering Column are in.
Now just gotta figure out the position of Accelerator Pedal, without the Brake pedal fouling up against it when braking.

  8. As far away as possible. It doesn't matter how much distance you have to the firewall (theorectical legroom), the pad on the accel. pedal will determine where you right foot and leg will spend all their time.

Nearly there with the Dynamat, then I can install the seat and check position of the Accelerator Pedal.

Hahaha.... Yeah, I'm renowned as a messy worker. I spend lots of time shuffling stuff around so That I can start work.
But I love how my hinges pop against the black, you can really see them now that the door is on. Lots of work went into these to get them to this lustre.

  18. Jimmy how are you going to stop the hinges from tarnishing?

I considered coating them with clear but the polished finish would have meant the clear would not stick too well and have flaked off after a while, leaving me with a bigger mess to manage.
So I guess once a year I'll mask up around the hinge and pull out the Brass polish and a rag. But then again, the tarnished look will be a cool look as an alternate.

If you will polish those hinges with Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish, you won't have to touch them up very often. The stuff really holds up; especially on something aluminum and you just lightly rub it across the metal until it gets really shiney. Do NOT rub hard as it just slows things down! Lightly is the key... it is a chemical cleaning and protecting process.;)

  30. Not sure about those colours, I think they might get lost with the timber on the garage floor . But seriously, should be a winner, paying very close attention !
