My Dad built and owned this 1934 Coupe from 1963 to 1973 and after 39 years my brother and I brought it home. My dad sold it in July of 1973, and the same guy has had it since. I spent the last 10 years trying to get the 34 Ford back but had no luck until last week when I received a phone call telling me, it really wasn't for sale but he would sell it back to us so we could get it back in the family. The car looks the same today as it did in the 60's except for the interior is somewhat changed.
It's really neat to say that this is a true survivor 60's hot rod and it's back home after many phone calls and being persistent.
There is so much more I will tell you guys about it but I want to post this thread asap cause it is really exciting. When they saw the Coupe my Mom had tears and kissed the car. After being in awe for 5 mins, my dad shook my hand, gave me a hug, and said thanks for bringing it back home. I will give more details and history on the car in this thread. Enjoy some pictures of the return...

  5. That is so cool, its a great feeling to give back something that means so much to your Father! I was lucky enough to do the same a few years ago.
Your Father must be very proud of you guys and with just cause, *Respect!*

Seeing your Dad's reaction must have made all that effort over the years worth it. Great story. Congratulations.

That is just friggin' amazing! Good for you for working that long to preserve a piece of your family's history. Just a fantastic coupe, and it looks like it has been well maintained as well. Great story, thanks for the photos.

You need to thank the guy every day for selling it back to you and never changing it. He had it 4 times as long as your dad what a great guy it must have been hard to sell it back. Great story lets here more

I asked him how many miles he put on it in 39 years and he told me maybe 2-3 thousand miles. Not many at all in 39 years. It has been in storage since 2004. From 2004 til now he said he started it up once in awhile. He said he always kept fresh gas in it, and would run it around his shop and up and down the block.
I am still in awe that we got her back or should I say the whole family is in awe.......

Must have been a great caretaker that had it that long. Nice to know that there are people out there that are like that. Thanks to him for preserving it.......
