My Cadillac Bonnet

    Doesn't seem to open very far. Look at the shot, I'm 5'11', and i have to crouvch through the opening to get in. If you try & lift it much higher, the rear corners touch the top of the gaurds (Fenders), and i can already see where the paint has been chipped away.
    Q. are they all like this, or have i got a hinge problem.
    The bonnet (Hood) opens & shuts perfectly otherwise.

    The Bonnet/Hood is normal for a Cadillac of that year !

    Why is it called a 'bonnet"...???

    My '55 Caddy hood opens about as far...

    One of the old jokes was that the part of your body that hurts the most when you get shocked by a plug wire is the back of your head when you bang it on the hood as you jerk back. You may draw blood a few times before you learn to duck in and duck out.:D

    As they said, yours in normal. It isn't until the '59 that you get good access.

    No.. they should have stops with little rubber bumpers on them.
