Hot Rods My brother bought a 32 Ford 5W- Old California hotrod with a 348

How often is Portland swap held? I am visiting from Texas to Portland from May 20-May 28. Any suggestions for a 70 year old hot Rodder? Thanks John in s. Texas.

 

Once a year John. You may look here for some other events during the time you're going to be here. Seattle is having a swap meet at that time but I'm not sure of the size.

That’s the Monroe swap meet and pretty good sized. I drive over for it. It’s probably 3-4 hour drive from Portland depending on traffic

 

My brother sent me this last night, he has a Crestliner steering wheel he is restoring and found a better full length stick for the trans in his piles of stuff.

 

I like the Olds motor idea. And the lower, wheels, tires, drive it idea.

 

That wheel needs a lot of work but it is salvageable,that coupe is amazing!. HRP

 

How do you restore a wheel where the plastic is segmented like that?

 

You can have it recast (there are companies that do this) or as my brother is doing, slowly filling the cracks and gaps with an epoxy. long process, but works and is pretty cheap. Also makes the wheel very strong

Yes, exactly. Or you can leave it for that "sun baked" look and it won't fall apart (If that's your thing)

Hey there love the car and the engine, if I was your brother, i'd buy new firewall, and modify it so motor could be moved back some, put original fan on and just remove old firewall and keep it case you want to put back in one day!
Would really be cool to keep 348 in it as it was in 60's with motor moved back a little, very cool car, would loose some value with a different motor in it, Traditional Rooding! keep it alive boys!

How did you miss that 32 cab that was for sale in Spokane?

 

What was the final price this was aquired for? Also the adapter from the engine to the banjo is a very unique piece..

 

Nope! Never lived in Bako. Some friends live there like Shag and Squeek and my brother "Lukejivetalker" was out that way..

That's a really cool car. I like the W motor in it. There is no mistaking the W Motor for anything else, it has its own unique look. But I understand the fit problems too.
What are those tail lights off of? I like them. Somebody said a Buick. What year Buick would that be?
