Im at a loss.. it has holes at the top for exterior hinges..please help so I can go to bed.. Thank you in advance..and sorry for the unfun post.
The biggest clue is in the handle. Kool, deco lines in it, and then there's the ID holes in the center. I'm thinking GM too, maybe an Olds or Pontiac from 36-7? Thanks, now I wanna know!
I found a pic on the internets of what was purported to be a 37-38 lid and the inside looked identical. been 20 some years since I owned a 39 sedan, so I forgot what they look like.
that might indeed be a 40 handle, but the lid is not a 40 lid, it's too tight bend at the top. I seem to recall my 39 had a handle or two swapped for the wrong one when I got it, too...
That's off a 1938 Chevrolet four door sedan, with a 1940 handle added. The handle was changed in 1954. the car was sold in Canada. It had knee action, but was changed to a straight axle in 55, after a minor accident.{ Boy I really like my new pain meds.} Sorry, this is where you hit the report button.
