So I stop by Radkes while passing through Portland last month. while there they give me a new shirt and tell me their having a car show on the 21st of August. i'm like thats my birthday I'd love to come down. what a great place. same location since 1933. Any racer grew up portland more then likely has bought parts or had work done in that place. as a kid in the late 60's, early 70's it was Radkes Auto Parts and Woodburn Drag Strip. i was actually flattered to get invited. its a small local free customer appreciation type deal with a great crowd. Sat morn my son and i head down and spend the day, good food, good people, etc. Mid day they have a raffle and give away hats stainless coffee cups, all kinds of stuff. At the end of the day they have a raffle (Free) for all the drivers. They gave away buckets of stuff. the big item was a 19gl heated parts washer. i was teasing people telling them i had the only rig that could get it home just in case they needed help. LOL I ended up needing help getting it in my own rig. What a great birthday present . God now i gotta make a hole in the garage for it.
