My barn fresh 1948 Chevy truck

I have been looking for the right truck for the longest time. I'm a big fan of the 5 window truck. I came across this 48 chevy 3 window truck on Craigslist. I made the hour drive to check her out. I diged the patina, she has a great running 235, with a 4 speed. She's a little slow on the freeway but I drive her mostly around town. The 51 coupe in the first picture is also mine, I bounce back and forth between my Chevys and my 57 ragtop VW. I have a love hate relationship with VW's but she's a keeper. I'll update this thread soon with better pictures!!

 

Picked up some fire wood for our weekend family trip to big bear.. Also got in the mail today these cool old Budweiser license plate frames that I won on eBay for 25$ for the pair! Also have some fish tails from a Harley I picked up that I will be putting on the old 48! Haven't pulled the trigger on a SIDS 4" drop front axle yet but it's on my wish list...

I spent around 60$ (45$ on wood and 15$ on stain) at the Home Depot on the bed rails I put on the 48, I like the old farm look, this picture was taken before the bed rails were made.

Once I get my wife to help me out with the picture posting I will post up some bigger pictures, I hate clicking on the pics my self to have to view a bigger pic. I have a few ideas of what I want this truck to look like so ill be posting as go!!

I Wanted to share a quick pic. Of my 51 deluxe coupe. Solid rust free car. Lowered with fat man drop spindles and half a coil cut up front and jamco loweing leefs with 2" blocks in the rear. Real smooth ride

I miss my old red one built in the early 90's. It went to Florida and I have seen hide nor hair since.

Neat truck. I think you should patina/beat up those bedside rails a little to match the truck a bit more. Killer none the less
