my 65 fairlane a/fx straight axle build

    Thats not a good look IMO. From a distance you cant tell where the wheel ends and the tire begins, makes the tire look HUGE.

    Wayne;.032 Aluminum or .024 steel,I used aluminum on mine.I like that wheel combo on that Burgandy T-Bolt,should look good on your 65!!!For years I ran black steel wheels on my slicks with TTs on the front!I like the "OLD SCHOOL" look on wheels on our vintage cars,but then,I am OLD!!!!! ROY.

    Only just caught up with your build thread Wayne, I'm liking what i'm seeing, great stuff.
    I'm also building a gasser, 41 Willys but fibreglass, look forward to seeing your updates.

    Hmm....I do not remember Keystones looking like that. When I think of them I conjure up the Sox and Martin late 60's early 70's cars. I sure could be wrong , certainly not the first time

    Roy u ain't old yet lol Im only 25 I wish I was around back then to see these cars run ..but like u say ,I do like the tt in the front and steel in the rear. It just gives it that factory race car look

    This weekend is devoted to putting the rear end together. Strange pro race center section ,35 spline strange axles

    Also I bought a th400 trans to put behind my 532 bbf .had to cut the bell housing off and bolt my ultra bell to the pump

    I would have done a glide, way easier to get a leaf spring car with BBF torque to hook with a glide.

    Wayne;that TH400 will be awesome!! A friend runs a 393W in a 3200lb 64 Comet,runs 9.40s with it,said he should have done it years ago!!!

    Just out of curiosity, could a 350 Turbo work, and I wonder if it would be any faster?

    I bought a jw ultra bell from jegs it works on th400 and th350 . Hey Roy I bought my step dads 64 cyclone the last weekend. I guess my gf thinks its hers she's been in it all week .

    Not really I changed the way my trunk opens due to my wheel tubs It now opens backwards with gas struts looks pretty cool .I stole the idea from my dads 63 savoy

    Yeah a lenco would be bad ass . But they are a little to expensive for me
