You should have plenty of time now, with the lockdown and all!

After 40 years you have an awfully clean garage!

If in Michigan I'm assuming you stored it indoors. Solid.

Sweet!! Only thing better than a 56 F100 is a 56 Chevy wagon.

  10. When it comes to Handyman wagons the 56 is my favorite. What's the plan?

Looks like a solid start. Here’s pics of my ‘56 210 wagon. I know...it has a few too many doors, but it’s a wagon, so doors are necessary.

A little battered but the metal is there! Great start, intact originals like that are rare these days. @'56 150 clarified for me what goes on the rear quarter panel near the tail light. A script.

I'm using what I have "in stock" to build it. 1996 LT1 700R4, 9 inch rear, steel wheels, static drop.

  23. Your 1956 Handyman is my favorite wagon too (especially since I have one)! I think you have the ideal year LT1 to use. Is yours from a Corvette, Camaro/Firebird or Impala SS ? The Corvette would be ideal otherwise the others front accessory drive and A/C will will hit the crossmember so you'll need a Corvette front accessory drive. Mine has a 283 with a stock powerglide but it really needs an upgrade. I too have a low mileage 1993 LT1/700R4 that I was considering using, but I also have a built 413 SBC I could use too. I'm already finding out the '93 LT1 I have isn't the best candidate for the swap due to first year batch fired fuel injection with the MAP sensor instead of the the MAF sensor, along with a one year only computer. I've been looking for the easiest route so I've been studying this long thread on the Tri-Five.com website about a 1955 Chevy/LT1/4LE60 swap that gives a lot of information along with other threads there. It might help you out too. https://www.trifive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14051 I'll be closely watching to see what route you take on yours.

  24. Here is a bunch more links to threads that may help you out.

I see you might be needing a complete set of glass too. I got a complete set of everything from Auto City Classic in Minnesota on Ebay. A great deal, all of it for $975 plus $160 shipping for $1135 total. It comes very well packed in a big box on a pallet from FedEx. This for a 210 model but if you give them a call I'm sure they can get you the correct glass for your 150 for the same price as it is on Ebay.

I've also installed the Rain Gear wiper system and a Vintage Air system in mine (minus the compressor and hoses until I figure out the engine swap.

I've always wanted a 56, Model 150, Handyman Wagon; only thing, other than a Willys Coupe I'd trade the Delivery for. Friend of mine, who deals in 55-57 Chevrolet cars AND parts, had one; he recently sold it and the new owner is Gasser-fying it. I had a Model 210, Handyman for a while, but it was't plain enough for me. Little trim/chrome, little accessories, and generally, little demand as most guys want something more "dressed up". I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
