Just thought I'd share my build with you guys. I picked up a 56 Century from a forum member a few months ago as a project car. It is in rough shape, but it will be nice when I'm finished. Any comments welcomed.

    As she arrived at home.

Thanks Lukey. My plans are to build a nice little street rod that I can drive on the weekends and take to some car functions and stuff. Air ride suspension or some lowering solution, disc brake conversion, wheels, tires, body, paint, crate motor/new drivetrain etc. I am going to upload a few more pics tonight to show some of the progress.

Floor was previously "repaired." I grinded out the majority of the "welds" and re-welded them, and grinded flush. Walnut shell blasted the floor, patched holes, and Then treated floor with rust inhibitor, then Herculiner.

Started patching old bondo holes. I'm going back with metal, welding it up, then using bondo to face it and add contour.

Cool project... don't weld next to your glass like that unless you plan on replacing it, in which case, it'll need to be replaced now!

Glass was fine. ;) It's out now, and saved in storage, but a little short arc chain tacking didn't ruin my glass. :)

Kick ass, man! My dad and I (mostly my dad at this point) are building a 56 Buick Special 2dr. hardtop. I think I have a build thread on here somewhere from like 4 years ago. haha. I'll try to keep checking back for your updates. I might even try to update my thread!

Thanks, and will do. At this time my plans are for a 383 stroker with a blower. Subject to change, as I'm still debating about the power plant and drivetrain. My girls 55 will keep the classic nailhead, but my route will be much different. One thing I'm sure of is that a nailhead will not be going back in.

    Bruce-

I don't want to get into a pissing match but if you want to compare rough '56 Wagons I think I win.

Not to derail, but I've been working on the ole lady's 55. May make a thread on it, but here are a few pics of it for now. I'll get back to my 56 eventually.
