thats what i have planned i gotta try and get in done for the next viva show and suppose to hit the round up in Austin as well next year so the chop is gonna have to wait till at least after the show hopefully i can get her on the street by then
Dave! Quick question... Do you have your headlights wired up yet? Got mine done today, but I've encountered something I've never encountered before. USUALLY, when you pull the knob halfway out, that turns on your parking lights. Pull it all the way out and your headlights come on. This '53 is the opposite. Headlights come on at halfway out, parking lights when you pull it all the way out. Was just wondering if this was normal or if I'm going to have to go in and de-fuck up someone else's wiring.
i havnt had that problem check the two wires they sounds like there backwards might be what it is. thank you sir!
I agree with you, and this afternoon when I discovered it I reversed the wires so that the parking lights came on at halfway out and the headlights came on when it was pulled all the way out. But NOW, my tail lights don't come on when the headlights are on, but they do when the parking lights are on.
hahaha oh damn maybe try a different head light switch see if that might be the problem im alittle stumped now haha
Well, everything is working just fine, just not at the right time. I actually think I might know what it is after thinking about it. There's a metal jumper tab that connects two of the terminals on the left hand side of the switch. It was obvious that someone had been in there fiddling with the wiring, so I'm betting that the jumper connects the tail light wiring to the headlight tab, and whomever was in there just secured it to the wrong terminal. Hell, I'm just happy to have lights! But thanks!
just a couple action photos. finally got some time away from everyone else's projects and got to work on mine. i just need to cut my wheel wells out more so nothing touching the tires when aired all the way down.
finally she can hold air and she rolls just need to get a set of drop up rights for the front and she should be sitting pretty.
i measured from the cast part of the rear end and i measured 3 inches over from there i kept the bracket on the rearend flush with the top of the axle tube . hope that makes sense
