    I love the tread! Updates??
    A couple of questions...

    1. What headers did you use? I'm swapping a 351 into my 52 f1 but having a hard time sourcing the correct headers to clear the oil dip stick and stock steering. A part # would be awesome

    2. Any more pics of your build?

Just found your thread and enjoyed reading it, especially that you put the Windsor in there. I had a '51 F1 project a few years ago and looking at your pictures brought back lots of good memories. Subscribed.

  4. Sorry for the delay... They are flowtech headers, block huggers for sbf. They were the best deal I found, but I had to have one side machined flat at the engine shop, and had to widen some of the flange holes to get it to install right.

    More pics!

  5. I've been following your thread off and on but haven't posted on it. Nice work and I admire your determination. I've worked on my F-1 off and on for 21 years. It's just now in the paint prep/driving stage.
Glad to see you kept the drip rails by the way.

looks like some good progress, bummer about the primer set back (it happens)

Nice job with the rare "5-Star Deluxe cab" interior door panels, do you have the arm rest also?

  7. I have the armrest but am leaning towards not using it currently. Thanks for the feedback.

Looks good, nice to see someone making progress!

  9. Trying to catch up on posts and condense a lot of boring bodywork and other odds and ends. Noticed a lot of older photos are not loading anymore so trying to upload vs using an url this time.

  10. To finish off the catchup. ..

Still need to finalize paint color and order, time to move on from epoxy primer to standard primer for some build before another few rounds of blocking.... i.e. taking it all apart again.

Been averaging about 10 hours a week over winter, but back up over 16 since the thaw. Weekend/weeknight warrior.

  11. Been busy but got enough done to post about....

Lots of prep, epoxy prime, regular prime, block, prime, and repeat....

    Another round of mockup 20171001_122445.jpg 20171002_215001.jpg 20170816_201135.jpg
Went with smooth running boards, welded studs to the bottom to keep em clean, and added a relief for the exhaust to run out before the wheels.

Now it's at the body shop for finishing touches and paint!

  15. Mrharley51 thanks for the offer! Nice build. I'm continually surprised by how many of nice f1s are in Michigan

Just went through the whole thread also, the pickup has turned out really nice. Awesome job.

  19. Had an adhesion problem on hood, but rest of car was wheeled polished and waxed. New rims and tires installed, exhaust finished, windows all in, rearend rebuilt, went back and hit the rotors with paint (will eventually get to paint the calipers with more paint) and tons of small jobs completed...
Put about 50-60 miles on it, going to be busy between driving it and working on it on days it's not too hot 20180619_195202.jpg 20180427_205537.jpg 20180616_133033.jpg 20180616_170643.jpg

  20. License plate may be an issue eventually.
I have the door unlatched - the gap isnt that bad. So busy enjoying driving it and working on it without the hood I haven't taken it out to get some better photos

really turned out nice. love the color

  23. 17x8 front 225/55 r17
    17x9 rear 255/60 r17
U.s. wheel rat rod wheels with moon's
Goodyear eagle f1s (high performance summer tire.
265s would not have fit, the 255s are probably too tight, but with a 17x8 wheel I bet they would give a little more margin for error.
I'd put taller tires for the front if they made them in the same line, but balancing narrow for height in a decent sidewall to make up for lack of power steering.
