my 49 shoebox

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by calicruiser, Aug 13, 2010.

  1. nothing special but it is mine!! I love the look of satin black but wanted to stay away from flat black with red wheels so I went the polar opposite and did a teal/aqua color. I am enjoyin the hell outta this car! I've only had it for about 4 or 5 months now. My good friend Steve Havens did the pintriping. One hell of a guy I tell ya!

If I ever did another shoebox, it would be like that. Your car is proof that you don't really have to do much to the little things to make a bitchn little driver.

    What's under the bonnet??

  16. not sure what you mean by the bonnet (the hood?) it is the stock flathead V8 with OD. thanks for the good words!

thanks to everyone for the kind words. What I like about the shoes is that you dont HAVE to chop them to have a decent looking car. Chopping obviously makes a KILLER car imo but you dont have to. I will wait til I am bored with it and then chop it!

I dig the teal and the striping also. I thought the same thing "suede and red" looks good but its been over done on a shoebox so here is what i did. I did the motor steering wheel and rims pearl blue with suede... I dig it Kyle

I'm not even a custom guy, but that's a cool little '49. I can't be the only one out there that prefers the tudor body style to the coupe, could I?
