    Hi Doug,
You have lost me on the kombie glass option...
It's not just the glass it's the roof as well, not willling to tackle it plus I want to engineer the air bags, I don't think that a engineer will like me choppin it as well.
    Cheers Darren

Some incentive.... This is a friend of mine's. It has an EFI straight eight. It sounds so sweet with dual glaspacks.
Unfortunataly, I don't have any details on how he did the EFI. The body mods speak for themselves.

thort thats what you meant. Plastic beads are real gentle on panels. Are you aware they won't remove any rust tho?

Cool thread. My '48 runs SBC TH350 and 10 bolt. I ran the straight 8 for 6-7 years but parts were so expensive !
    No bags though.........not yet !

Picked up a ’49 Buick Super Sedanette about 15 years ago…..I did not want to buy it, but went to take a look at it. There it sat…..Tenn. car and in perfect rust free condition….OK…a small spot the size of a quarter in the usual place…at the rear wheel well. The guy who had it accumulated 20 years worth of NOS parts…..grill. bumpers, taillights, endless SS moldings and so on. I was forced to buy it….it sat there looking at me, and all of the NOS stainless and chrome parts gleaming in my face….oh yes, I guess I had to have it. Took it all apart, did a frame up….the frame and underfloor done to show quality….straight 8 with the ‘Dynamush’ trans also in show paint & detail. The entire rolling chassis completely done and running, placed the body back on the frame….and yep….there it is, sitting for almost 8 years, waiting for me to finish….time, time, time.

For some reason, the ’49 is a special car. The dash and instruments are totally different from other years, even the ’50 dash went back to the ‘48 style….the rear bumper has no bumperettes and is as clean looking as any special built custom car… the taillights are of the sunken Vette style, and the list goes on. I always wondered why this happened, design wise. There is also the fact that we see very few ‘49’s….again, a mystery to me. What a beautiful car….do I finish it or sell it….life is tough.

    hi guys,
i'm just about to lift the body off the frame, i have an a-frame and a electric winch overhead, and i was going to put some slings around the roof at all the corners and lift it off, but someone has told me that it will buckle the roof or twist the body, and that i should lift it from the floor. but if i lift it from the roof could i just brace it between the b-pillars?
    cheers darren

Just wondering how the car's coming along? Did the body lift go ok? I'm still looking for the side trim. I'll let you know if I come across anything.

    I hope all is well!

    Later Bro.
