I had full intentions on driving the car, but lack of time and money before the show for a few more safety precautions to be done did not allow for the long drive. So the car hitched a ride via a (cough cough) trailer..(head down in shame). Sorry guys..I didn't like it either..But safety is safety. Next time.
Put a 120 miles on the car today, drove to Rust-O-Rama 65 miles per hour all day long and only used 1/4 tank of fuel..Winner winner..
Excellent thread! I look forward to reading more updates on your Plymouth as you post them. Please include pictues as well. By the way, Very Cool car!
I'm looking forward to the end of next month, cruising and show season will be pretty much over here in the Northwest. So the tear down will begin again for more changes..O'yeah
I am looking into buying tires, what is the width of the white on the whitewall? Also, do you think you could gone with a wider tire? I think it looks great, just wanted your opinion before I order my new tires.
Wow does this car bring back memories...I had the same model in 1966 when I was in high school. Drove the wheels off it and it never let me down...well almost never, there was that time when I dropped the driveshaft but that's TMI. The door behind the passenger seat that leads into the trunk was the greatest when sneaking kids into the drive-in. Looks like you are having fun with this one, keep up the good work!
My tires are BFG Silvertown 600x15's with 2 5/8 whitewall, the tires themselves are pretty narrow, you don't have alot of options on width when you need a small diameter bias ply tire. Not sure if your planning on lowering your car or not, but I'm gonna be going even lower then I am now and I needed the smallest diameter i could get. You may have more luck with a radial tire for width choices if you want something wider. But for me its gotta be bias ply..Goodluck with your car.
not sure. i havent really figured out the difference between the plymouths of this era. Just learning newbe to these cars. Any insight would be great.
I like my car, but damn yours looks good. Love the stance. I hope mine turns out like that! Thanks for the good road map! Any tips on doing the Fatman fronts? What'd you do for brakes? A little concerned about keeping the master cylinder in stock location with lowering it. Thanks! Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Oops - Didn't read enough - Scarebird kit... Ok - new question; did you get a good pedal with the dual m/c in the stock location?
Hi, Your Plymouth looks drop dead gorgeous with the wide whites, have you got any more plans for it ? Nice car, thanks for sharing.
Yes it will be, I have half the parts purchased and working on the rest of it before I tear down the car. it will get there in time, just not as fast as I want it to.
I'm assuming these are you rear drums. I'm having a hell of a time removing the drum with the hub. Do you think I can drill out the welds between the drum and the hub and just pull out the drum without the hub? I don't think the hubs coming out and I already striped two wheel looks trying with the hub puller..
Great thread! What is the plan for the winter? Are you bagging it front and rear? It is good to see some photos of Oregon as I get ready to head up there for the holidays. Keep it up!
