...some work i have done to the firewall...

even though i will be running a early OHV chevy and run a hood and run a actuall mechanical fan,it required a dist. recess,, i still wanted to do all i can to keep that stock look of 33/34 firewall that everybody loves...

Somehow this thread slipped through my grasp of hot rod build threads. This is definitely a hot rod through and through.. Subscribed.

gosh,,,,after looking at Brian Bass' thread and his amazing work as usual...i feel like a chump posting this lil update,,infact, i dont even know why i continue?! lol

..but regardless its still a lil milestone for myself...the firewall is now in semigloss black,(i felt a lil more fiting...)all precautions have been made as far as engine fittament etc..

..all i lack now ,,,is finishing.

....getting the engine ready to drop it in....

...the goal is to have the look as if someone back in the mid 50's dropped a then new chevy into an old hot rod....(i will be running rams horns, an oilfill/breather intake and an oil bath air cleaner adapted to paper element...)

My 32 is a very similar theme - doing it like I wish I had been able to do when in High School - 1954 - 1957.

mounted the fan today,........thats the air cleaner i will be running, i originally adapted it to paper filter about 7 or 8 years ago and ran it on "the Roach" 34 ford pick up i got from Squigy,,,Lauren who got the roach from me ,changed the intake and swithced to 3 carbs so he didnt use the air cleaner,,he ws nice enuff to give it to me a year ago or so,,,,i will run it on this 34(still need to repaint it though).

thanks Pewsplace! ,,i check out your blog from time to time very cool!....

reworked the 40 ford clutch pedal to work with a hydaulic mastercylinder & mounted the M/C under floor....(no pics) it has pedal,,guess we will see once it runs! ....
...other than that,, i'm know waiting on a bunch of lil parts to contiune on,,,so figured i'd make a shifter handle since i'm using a NV3500 chevy truck trans there was no way i would use the stock shifter....i had been keeping my eye out for a 39 ford shifter, but they are pricey,so instead took some cold roll and bent it up and spilced it into the stock trans shifter tower,,,threaded it for a early ford knob,,,but didnt have a knob so,,,dug out on old well worn OJ ll skateboard wheel from back in my skater days...

    thanks for looking !

Love the build dude!! The engine looks great - nothing like a little Chevy orange in an old Ford hot rod.
