Wow, damn nice work and a great looking car. I'm following along.

  3. Detail is outa this world. The left door fit is as near perfect as it could ever be. Spreader bar up front is outstanding.

Here a some pictures of setting up of the rear end. While mocking up I descovered,at no fault of Shadow Rods, that the tire was not centered in the wheel well. This was do to me using different spring hangers then what Shadow Rods used for their mock up, mine were shorter. The red tape is where it needed to be and the bluetape is where it was. So I just took a saw to it and while I was at it I put "C" notches in it and reinforced the area with some square tubing.

Not to take anything away from the other HAMB members' talent but I think we have a new gold standard here. And that rear frame rework is a good example.
Many times you see people coming on here and starting a thread asking for suggestions on how to "fix" a problem instead of doing what is really required to undo a mistake, many times spending more time hashing it out over and over looking for support instead of just biting the bullet and getting it done and move on.
@Hutch built thanks for the great close up photo coverage, your attention to detail is outstanding.

Hmmm. Hutch, I wonder if you are from Ohio? A long time ago I got in touch with Josh Shaw about a chopped A Coupe built by Hutch.....It was cool too.......Just thinking.....

Stunning Craftsmanship. You could write your own ticket if you wanted to do this stuff for a living!

John ,it's Tom V. Buckley said you posted the build here. Great that the world can see your work. I hope you enter it in some of the big events as have been suggested here before thrashing on the streets.. It deserves to be seen ,built by a real talented craftsman in a two car garage. I am proud say that you have worked on mine. Hope you can still fit in your hat now.

I had my son Kyle, who is 14, help with bending, fish mouthing, and installing the roll bar tubing for the body reinforcement. Been teaching him how to weld and run the lathe too.

Here are some pictures of how I made cowl blister.[IMG]
I started with this, it's a damaged S/S ball that goes on the end of a 500 KV electric switch. I've had it in my possession for at least 15 years.[IMG]
I cut it into pieces and with my high dollar metal shaping tools gave it a tear drop shape.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
After shaping I welded the two halfs together and smoothed it up and put mounting brackets on the inside for hidden attachment points. I'll polish it later.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

  23. Awesome, it looks all so simple and easy. But if you haven't tried it yourself ...

WOW - nice rod; thanks for all the great pictures & detail. Hope to see it in York. Question: what are/how are spark plugs fired? Can not tell what "covers", coils are at plugs.

Standard spark plugs, wires, coil, and distributor it's just hidden behind all the stainless shielding that came on early corvettes.

Here are some pic's of the rear end mods. I made some rear frame horns that hug the body and made a curved S/S spreader bar like the one on the front. Then made some corner pieces out of exhaust tubing u bends.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
