Long day of labs, tests, Dr.'s appointment and finally an infusion.
Labs were all good (everything normal and right down the middle of the scales), CT scan showed everything is pretty much stable at this time. Nothing new, some tumors slightly bigger and some slightly smaller (doctor explained that is was most likely caused by the difference in angle of this scan and the past scans). Not enough change to call it growth or change, he considered if a great report. We consider that good news since there were no new growths or major changes to what is there now. Stability is the best we can hope for and we have it right now.
We discussed changing the cancer treatment due to it pushing my blood pressure higher and higher (getting harder to control, Cardiologist has changed all my blood pressure meds within the last month). While a treatment change is possible, he talked me out of it at this time. Hate to change after getting a good report after 9 months on this drug. We'll continue on this cancer drug and keep adjusting for blood pressure as needed. Cardiologist agreed with this so everyone is on the same sheet of paper.
Guess at this time we'll continue to watch BP and deal with it. Going to space out infusions to 3 weeks (been doing them every 2 weeks) and do some scans in a few months to make sure we're still on track. Hoping the longer lag between treatments will help with the BP issues.
All in all a good day, Dianne even got some Christmas shopping in so she was doubly happy!
Got almost everything in high build primer. Started blocking again. My next infusion is scheduled for Jan 2nd so looks like the car won't make it to upholstery that day as scheduled, may take a day longer if the body is really done by then. Trying to keep everything done on 3 fronts is like juggling!
Will now be moving the Mustang from the center room to the front room to keep it out of the main fabrication mess and start back in on my '62 short bed unibody. Want to finish up the motor mounts, front suspension, get the big back window section in the cab and get started on the rear 4 bar install while the '32 is at paint/upholstery. That gives me until early February to get the unibody back on track. Have to stay healthy to make this happen. Have to stay busy to stay sane!

Steve that is great news! You are 100% on with the "stay busy to stay sane"! I had a prostate procedure (non cancerous) two years ago that required eight weeks of nothing physical. I about went nuts pondering my belly button Got to feeling frisky and paid for it. Doc was right, stay on the couch like I told you! Glad you can work projects to keep the mind off the illness. I strongly believe faith and mental attitude are 90% of getting well/recovery! Keep the faith sir.

While cleaning the shop and blowing about 2” of primer and filler dust off everything, look what was back in the corner! This will be my project while the ‘32 is at paint and upholstery. Haven’t touched it for a couple years so time for some lovin’. Gives me a couple months to get some things done on this one.
Just read entire thread and must say you have done one fine job sir. Hope your health stay's well and look forward to the remaining part of the build.

Merry Christmas to all those following. Much better Christmas than last year. Ended up in the hospital last year and basically don't remember any of it. This year has been good. Having our last Christmas today.
Been working on the unibody every day while waiting for the '32 to get back from paint. Cutting the back of the cab out to put a big window section in. Almost ready to start putting the back of cab section back in. Hopefully by the middle of this week it's back together.
Got some pictures from the painter. First round of high build is sanded. Going back to hit a few areas with another round then sand again.

Stopped at the painter's shop today. Body looks nice. They have a handful of spots to shoot in hi build again and a final block sanding then it should be ready for paint. He said possibly paint it Friday, we'll see. I'm not going to make the 2nd going to upholstery! Already knew that, though. I have another infusion scheduled for Thursday so we weren't going to make that date anyway.
Been plugging (literally plug welding) along on the unibody. Got the old small window cab section completely removed, cleaned up and literally snapped the big window section into place. Fit great. I was a little worried since this cab section came from a truck that had a tree fall on the roof years ago. Right behind the driver's head there was a place on the outer and inner panel that I cut out, created new pieces and welded them in. There was a short (6 to 8") section that was a little "flat" at the top edge but it will work fine since I'm welding the entire seam shut anyway. As of tonight it's all welded back in and ready to grind some welds down. Then I'm ready to move on to the front of the truck.
Get these welds dressed them next up is correcting an issue with the right side frame mount for the engine.

I’ve been away from the H.A.M.B. for a while. Glad to check back in and find your continued progress regarding your health and your project. Happy New Year!
You are a hard worker that is for sure. And you do amazing work.
Still waiting on paint. Hopefully this week it gets done. One of the issues is I agreed when we started this whole process was that I wasn't the top priority for them. He is a very busy shop that does great work. He has the belief that people trying to get to work, get kids to school and make a living are more important than a hot rod. I agree with him. They have had a banner year of deer hits. Not uncommon to get 3 cars in every day. It's been crazy. The upholsterer understands and agrees. At least we're all on the same page and it's winter. As long as it's back home with the "contracted" work done by spring we're good. More time to work on the big window.
Did get the big window section completely welded in the'62 unibody and ground down. Still a few small areas that need some detail grinding in tight spots. That can wait for a day when I don't have a massive headache! Trim fits nice and sits square. Also welding in all the seams so it's all smooth when done.
Next up I mounted a '66 style front bumper with the '62 mounts. Bumper bottom edge was a little bent up so spent some time with a torch, hammers and dollies to straighten that bottom lip. Cut some reliefs in it to change the arc so it followed the gravel pan better. Clamps, bottle jacks, shims.....whatever it took to make the shape correct then I tacked everything in place. Everything is welded up, ground down and the last thing I will do to it is narrow it about 1-1/4" per side. Won't do that until I do the final fit on the front Sheetmetal.
This week we try to fix that motor mount issue. The wife gave me the cold from hell and been down all weekend. We'll see how that all feels this week. I'm kind of slow to recover on the cancer drugs.
Had an infusion last week. Things went well. They upped my dose but spread out the time frame. Now on 1300MG every 3 weeks instead of 1000MG every 2 weeks. Like the extra week off in there but the higher dose seems to make me feel a little crappy for a couple days. It'll work. Reports have been good, labs great and the blood pressure has almost behaved itself. Almost.
Truck progress looking good! Glad the adjustment to your treatment seems to be helping the BP.
It's a shame you can't find a way to post your progress on that other site where shitbucket screwed up your photos as I don't do facebook.

Man that little hot rod is going to look awesome. Your attention to detail is amazing. I told my wife the other day that I'd like to find an 50's 60's truck for a daily driver. Prayers for a quick full recovery.
Dodged a bullet on the coupe! Got a call from a good friend telling me the painter had sold his business effective a week ago! Hmmmm, how will this change things on my car?
Drove to the painter's shop yesterday and had a little sit down. Told him I heard he was semi-retired. He confirmed that was an option, but he was still running the business for the new owner. All his staff was staying in place, the new owner doesn't know anything about collision repair or paint and has kept him on as the head of operations, they aren't even changing the name of the business. My car, a '57 Chevy PU, a '71 Mustang and a '67 Fairlane were 4 cars in the shop that are in no way involved in the deal. Those are the painter's personal side projects and will remain totally separate and the new owner will have absolutely nothing to do with them, he's only interested in straight collision repair projects from now on. Basically insurance type projects. Good news!
They were spending the rest of this week working on the coupe. Had is sitting just outside the paint booth with enough room to roll the van out of the booth they were painting yesterday. He wanted to get mine all finished and out of the shop so it wasn't effected in any way. I told him I was sorry to hear he wasn't going to be interested in doing any paint work on my unibody since I started working on it again. He then informed me that 2 weeks ago he had a new down draft paint booth put in at his big shop at his house. Those projects will just be done there from now on.
Crisis averted, everything still moving forward, progress being made. Breathing easier.
Glad everything worked out with your painter for the coupe. Those situations can get troublesome sometimes.
I’m glad you have avoided “BodyShop Hell”! In my 30 years selling tools, I saw it many times. Good to be proactive.
Close call...but as they say, close only counts in horse shoes, hand grenades and atomic bombs....sounds like your guy is a man of integrity. We call those situations "Paint jail" and "Upholstery jail"!
Got my '32 windshield frame/glass back today! All together. Now I have to detail the brackets, hinges, slides, etc. and get it all put together for the final time.
Decided it was time to get that cracked windshield out of the unibody. It's now living in a friend's dumpster with the back window.
Have stared at the door fit on the unibody since day 1. They aren't the original doors or hinges and they don't fit worth a damn. The original left door was wrapped back around the fender (somebody backed up with it open and caught it on something before I bought it. I had already repaired the hinge pocket damage years ago.). Decided it was time to deal the fit issue today. Adjusted the door until the gap was workable and the character line running from fender to door to box side all lined up. Once that was done the top of the door, right above the door handle, was right at 1/8" lower than the box was. Created a 1/8" x 1" x 6" filler piece and plug welded then perimeter welded it in place. Ground, sanded and sanded some more. Got it looking decent and still keep my gaps and character line. Details.
Removed a bit more paint to check the alignment for sure. Looks like a keeper!

On the '32 front: Got a few pics from the painter today. Last round of primer (hopefully) and shot the trunk jamb in color! Hoping it's about ready for paint. Was down and looked at it yesterday and discussed a few small areas so everyone was on the same page. Things should move fast now. Should....
On the unibody front: Also stripped the last of the paint I'm stripping at home. Everything left will be blasted. Both doors now adjusted, only a couple small rust areas to fix. Several smaller dents to deal with. Really need to stop and clean now. About a half inch of old paint dust laying on the floor now.
Years ago I started down the path of putting a 430 MEL in the truck. Had to raise it up 4" to clear the front sump above the rack. That put the tranny into the bottom of the floor. Cut part of the trans tunnel out to make things fit. After selling the MEL and swapping to a 390/C6 I needed to put the floor back together. Started down that path today, too.

You are 110% correct and yes, acknowledged, you have been here longer than some of us.
More importantly, there are people (daily) that apparently don't know there are two HAMB hot rod forums, and at a minimum, if they do, don't realize the Traditional Hot Rod forum is considerably more "structured".
I say this because many long term members were not active when some of the changes were implimented a few years ago.
