the yankee smoke house in ossippee i believe. they do a thursday night cruise. its as far inland as i go for now. on 16 before conway
a couple of people have commented on the grill.i went back and forth on the idea quite a bit, but found that 90% of the 28 29 roadsters of the era i'm trying to capture (1946-51) ran a 32 grill.i think if you had the money to buy one at the time you would have run one.
Car looks great, keep up the good work. I for one like the '32 shell. (of course I have a '29 roadster with a '32 shell!)
I think the car looks fantastic. Can't see why some are against the 32 grill , I know some may think it's over done, but as you pointed out a lot of early cars ran them. Did you have to lower the grill shell over the front cross member and use a smaller rad than the stock 32 size?
yup grill shell has 1 3/4" removed to line up with the cowl.the rad is a stock size for the 28 model a but made for the flathead.i think if i did it again i'd run a cut down 32 rad so it would be a perfect fit.
haven't posted in a while.the car is apart. i have finish welded everything and painted the frame in deep maroon with a $12 harbor freight iwata copy spray gun.i can't believe how nice these things lay paint i'm gonna buy a couple more. all the suspension in sem mat black paint.hope to begin the reassembly in a couple days then get the motor together.here are a couple pics of the frame.3"z in rear,38 ford tranny cross member, homemade motor mounts and k member.

In post war So. Cal, 32 grill shells were more scarce than 32's. It was the shell to run on the front of your 28/29. Almost a status thing.
Man, I love where you have gone with car but there is once GREAT improvement to you car that will be easy. Please, please, please reshape those horrible barn door front spring shackle bars. Make 'em dog-bone, make 'em just lots thinner, but not those wind-catching mileage-eating license plate sized monsters!
boy,how do you really feel.i think i can make that change for an old school hamber. wind catching ,mileage-eating licen plate sized monsters -thats hilarious
looks great good job!!!! still cleaning my shop hope for room to get back to work on mine by next weekend.
