Here's the frame I got from the barnfind that Tomcat46 shared with you all on here. I am building a truck to run on the salt out of it. I am using a modified body from a '41 diamond t model 406 for the cab. The frame is this 1928 buick that I'm convinced the guy sold me because of what I wanted to do with it and because he likes me...it was CHEAP too and he knows what he has. Then motivation is going to be a '38 346 cadillac. I'm going to do quite a bit to the engine, higher compression, aluminum heads, dual carbs, and a super secret cam. Might have a line on a lasalle trans to back it up as well :D I know it's not a very classic mix of parts, but it's what I have and I promise it will come together well...I just have to be different;) There will be very few parts from later than the mid 60's on it, and most will be pre 50's. Still need to find a good grill for it, something vaugely shield shaped and able to be slanted back a little. I'll take any suggestions and ideas.

I hope to have this running on the salt this year, but certain engine parts may keep me from doing so. If that's the case, I'll drop my 461 olds in there temporarily just to drive it while I finish the caddy. Well there it is, waddaya think?

profile shot...4" kickup in front, 10" in rear. perfect in stock form ;)

that is a cool chassis indeed, and looks perfectly straight!

cool! That frame looks friggin' burley compared to my model a's. The 1/4 elyptics are a plus. good luck on the project.

I have the same frame for my Roadster, though I ended up shortening it about 20".

Very good frame, sturdy, and definately different...

Those are the wheels you are going to run, right? Just replace the wood spokes with titanium and you're good to go!

Is this to drive to the salt or to run in a class. Which class if so?

yeah, i'm keeping them for sure. that's one of the things that drew me to this frame. the thing rolls around super easy too, it's in amazing shape.

no kidding. pretty surprised to find someone else out there using one on a rod :D did you keep the 1/4 elipses?

still haven't figured out the wheels i wanna use, don't think i could afford the titanium though. plus i'm giving the wheels and torque tube back to go with another '28 buick the guy i got it from has. i'm not gonna use them so someone should.

almost forgot pics of the body and engine for those who haven't seen them.

It seemed what would work and was cheap... I'm not gonna run the 1/4's, or at least I hadn't planned on it. They wanted to be in the way of channeling the body.
