  4. Looking really clean definitely an east coast build hooded sweatshirts and gloves. That motor is going to be sweet. I always try to position myself in front of the fire this time of year while working on my Plymouth Build. Hobo Jim

    Robert,
Subscribed, really cool thread. Looking to do something similar. 29 Ford truck cowl. Gonna make a Woodie roadster out of it. Like you have been collecting parts for a while. Going to do a west coast style build.
Motor 261 .080 over decked the block and head, flat top pistons notched the pistons, custom made cam. Original Offy valve cover and side cover. Found a an original Howard intake, gonna run 5 x 97's, just rebuilt them all. Porting the head myself currently. Curious to see how yours turns out.
    Cheers,
    Joe

  8. Had a wicked cold most of the week.
Did get a couple hours in.
Finished de-burring and took inventory of what parts I need to get rolling on assembly.
Don't have my W-2 and I already know where my tax refund is going.

The plan is to check piston to valve clearance so I can get the block decked.

  9. I has been too cold for the furince in the shop to keep up, so here is a parts update-

Picked up a couple 5 1/2" wide fives. one from @OLDTINPUSHER , the second off the west coast.
    IMG_0501.JPG IMG_0502.JPG

Sandblasting opened up couple holes in the second, nothing a little T.I.G. and and a grinder couldn't handle.

Better then looking at block deburring @wheeldog57?

  12. Thank You to Don Spence for the 56 Ford truck steering box.
I think I will go with Spritcar style steering with it. IMG_1284.JPG IMG_1286.JPG IMG_1285.JPG

  13. Gasket kit and rod bearings.
Plan to start engine assembly soon.

  19. I found some photographs of the bottom "ring" as I was building it.

I bolted the adapter and the ring to an F-1 transmission as a jig so I could weld it.

  20. I have decided to take this project in a different direction, and more in line with my family's history.
It will still be based on a model A Chevy six powered and use all the parts I all ready have!

  26. neat garage. how does that work? it looks like it is just sitting on the ground? will it get moved to a foundation and then aligned?
why did you buy it instead of building it?

  27. It needs to be delivered and sits on 3" of hard packed stone. it comes in two halfs and gets aligned.

Taking abrasive discs to the block decks is not the best idea...If you don't like the look ,have it milled...

  29. 3M soft disc just knocking off the surface rust. I will have it decked.

The price. The best quote I got on a 24'x24' concrete pad was $9,800.00. This whole set up was only a few hundred more then that.

The place it is going already had six 10 wheelers of stone over a course of several years, the parent company of the company owns gravel banks so I get an employee discount.
