Bruce, have you been drinking again? I swear I don't know what you are talking about sometimes....:D

  10. As always, thanks Paul for your fine report on the Iola swapmeet. Do you know the date for the 2012 event? How many sites are there and do you think it is worth the trip from L.A? I am trying to plan next years swapmeet adventures. Reading about those various flavoured pies had me salivating. Pitty you did'nt get some delicious photos of them as you know I'm a fan of food shots. Thanks again, H.R.D.

The meet has 4,400 spaces. The next one is July 12-15, 2012.
I do think it would be worth the trip. Lots of old car stuff rather than just late model or muscle car stuff like other meets. Plus you can't beat the nice weather. How can you put a price on that?
And if you come---I will buy the pie!

Wow! What an incredible swap meet. Nuts!!

Thanks a lot for the pics....

Did you get the price on the '47 Fleetmaster? Beautiful car.

Loved the ol' 8n (?) tractor also!

But seriously, Powerty Flats, thank you so very much for documenting/sharing your trips and adventures for us all to see!

    HC.

I took a stroll down row AE around 8PM Friday night with beer in tow looking for the PovertyFlats sign. Never did find it though. I'll have to try again next year! =)

Good to see ya Paul. Iola is such a great show. Sorry I missed ya bobwop. I was just out looking for some deals most of the time. I sold some stuff and bought some. Even had a bumper given to me.

That louvered '39 hood had to be the bargain of the week.

  23. Were you the one who bought the wiring harness?

I nominate your "Body Guards"Dick and Eric as secret weapon number "ONE" for the Wheelie contest against BCR....! With us Four in the car there is "NO WAY" you can loose!!! But Poverty thinks all he needs would be me in the back... He's pretty confident! (Sorry Mike... I really have to help Povertyflats win... especially when he told me that you two were doing Wheelies for titles and I figured I get the "Rocket Sled" from Paul after he wins (CHEAP...) like for a BBQ Chicken dinner with Pie!

Paul, missed you this year. Stayed at the swap space this year most of the time until supper. Walked by your space and Scott said that it was yours.

And we all know why Gasser Louie doesn`t come with you on the longer trips (his name doesn`t come from his gasser car). :D

  25. I'd build a car around these parts...

ha ha--I threw that in the trash after day one

  29. Paul told me how much I owed him for the beer and I really needed that amount to break even...

You know it was original with all the natural patina...

  30. the real question I need a answer to is how many place settings were set back in Kansas while you were gone ... and did you leave any hot food for her when you LEFT ?
