    Time for a little update.

We have been plugging along with the reassembly...alot of stuff that doesn't look like much but takes time and care.
The cowl is is back on for the final time, new rubber seal and stainless harware

Got the rear bumper back on

I finally got the new door felts. I ordered them from Macs back in December and that was a fisaco. So since, I needed new door felts, I couldn't put the vent windows back in until now

We had the bird up on the hoist last week to measure for new mufflers. While it was up there Ian and I got looking at the rear axle, as it had been the only thing we hadn't taken apart and cleaned up. With this thing being so low, no one would ever see the rear anyhow. That didn't matter, out it came and Ian went to town on it, pulling it apart, cleaning it, painting it, adding new seals and bearings.

Looks great. I'm being a wimp and haven't even tried to heat the shop enough to work on my 'bird. It's -6 here right now. The sun is shining, but damn, that's cold.

What is all that white shit surrounding your car in the outdoor photos?

Yeah it hasn't been a kind winter this year. Ian's shop is well insulated and heated, so it hasn't slowed us down too much. But the drives to and from his shop on weekends have been pretty crazy at times.

Want some? we have plenty. On the brightside we haven't been hit as hard as the north east. Want to send some of that California sun up this way?

  7. Oh my, that's a shiny rear you've got there.

Well...I let this thread go dormant. I'm not sure how many were following along, but I'm going to revive this thread.

Reassembly has been a long process on this one, it seems like everything wanted to fight us along the way. That took the wind out of our sails a bit over the summer, so things didn't progress nearly as quick as I would have liked. But that's life, and we keep plugging along. So to quickly bring you up to speed, we got it back together but not finished. I'm still finishing off the interior, but I have been driving it for about a month now. I gotta say, as much as the car fought us all throughout re-assembly, it has been running extremely well...no problems what so ever with it so far. I will get some more detail shots this coming weekend, but until then, here are a few shots I took before driving it around last weekend. stay tuned...

Oh, and for those others with squarebirds...the Aerostar front spring swap worked out great.

Thanks man. Driving it is the best part. Nice avatar btw

Im guessing you are using the hamb app...I think it has trouble with photos that are hosted on the hamb. If youre on a phone or tablet, try viewing the thread on a mobile browser rather than the app. I'll see if I can host or post the photos differently...

    Thanks man!

What vision! Every detail contributes. The total effect is greater than the sum of its parts.

So I will give a little preview of the interior as it comes together. I finished off the drivers door panel and Ian got it installed. The upper half is pure white to match the dash and outer seat panels, the arm rest is metallic gold which matches the lower dash panels and the bottom is pearl white with gold buttons. Like I mentioned way back at the beginning of the thread...this interior is inspired by the 56 Lincoln mark II, but with a little more flair.

And here is a pic of it in the car with the seat. I didn;t take good pictures of the seat yet, I will get a better shot this weekend. The seat is white outer, pearl white inserts, metallic gold rolls, gold piping and gold buttons.

The weather was great for a Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, so we took the birds out for a drive on Monday and to a little show out in the country. Birds of a feather flock together
