Here's Some pics of My 1959 F100 Custom Cab project, that I picked up last week. 1: preparing to load it onto a trailer, for it's trip to My garage 2: Engine and engine bay stripped down for cleaning and painting 3:Floors are in good shape, just 2 small holes near kick panels on each side Some lower door rust to fix 4:A couple small holes in step wells
wow, very cul project...You understand though...that a couple of holes really means a larger part of the metal has cancer and you'll need to cut out to healthy material...so, really a couple of holes may mean a 1/4 panel or more...again great find, keep pics coming
Thanks! I looked underneath, at the floors, and there is no further cancer than the holes that are there. So I will cut at least 2 inches larger, and patch 'em up. Will post pics as I move along
That's great. Way to luck out. Again nice project. What are your plans for the truck? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I will be putting bucket seats in it, otherwise patch the rust holes, touch up the paint and then enjoy cruising in it
Jeff, Nice looking project. Will you be fixing the damage to the outside of that driver's side door. May I suggest when you're done with the rust repair you paint those rims baby blue to match and add some repro dog dish hubcaps and beauty rings? They'd really set off the truck.
Yes, I will be fixing that dent in the drivers door. And thanks for the suggestion on the wheels, I'll do that!
Sorry it's been so long since I've posted progress pics: 1: Here she is the last time I took it for a spin. Unfortunately the fuel pump quit where I took the photo, and was towed home. Have since installed an electric pump and a new distributor and coil.I have transmission out for clutch replacement as of now 2: Rather than try fixing the bad inside rust out on My doors, I scored these straight ones off of a '57. Was thinking of leaving them as they are and just run them. Hope to get at least one mounted in the next week or 2 3:Back side of doors
Drivers door in place, just some fine tweaking and then bolt the hinges down. Thinking of leaving them as is, keep the "patina" on them
