Alright guys, I've been lurking for a while and decided to grow some and post my car up on here for all to look at and throw suggestions my way. I bought this car in September and started working on it last weekend for a few hours each night. Heres what I've got so far.

I then shaved the handles. I had to shave antenna holes because it had huge antennas on each fender and the holes in the fender from the antennas looked like they used a pitbull to cut them out so I welded in new pieces. I welded the hood seam shut and removed front trim. Removed trim off the trunk and welded all that shut.

Then a headlight treatment. I liked the look of 53 Buick headlights so I tried to find some. I found 54's cheap instead so I used them, but changed it up a little.

After that, Last night I started making a grille after inspirations like Jesus Valencia's car and Ian Berkey's car. Theirs are a lot better crafted, but it's mine and I like it.

Looks great so far. Do they still have the cool old Salvage yards in Hutchinson? I remember going there probably 15 years ago. Tons of cool old stuff. I think the name was Templins? Can't remember. Anyway looking forward to seeing more.

  19. All I can tell you is don't stop. I stopped on mine and I don't know if I'll ever get going on it again. Keep going while you are going.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Not much got done tonight, but I did cut out all the pieces and got the other side all welded up. The middle i'snt done yet because im thinking about pancaking the hood. We'll see how ambitious I am tommorow if I do it or not. Well, here's what I got done tonight.
    To answer questions:
Bouoy - the headlights came from CHEVSOTOLAC on here.
52TwoDoor - Most all of the cool yards got crushed out when metal went sky rocket a few years ago. We did have a few really neat old car salvage yards. Not anymore.

personally i think either a floating knob grille, or a simple straight bar with a TON of 53 teeth.. sort of like grapevine.

Ok, All I could get done was getting the front all solid welded. I've been busy all day doing family stuff. Welds looks crappy, but I am a hell of a grinder! No excuse for crappy looking welds other than getting in a hurry and trying to rush it .. Tell me what you think. And could someone show me or photoshop me a floating grill bar on this car? Or maybe a picture of something that would look decent. Thanks all.
