Yes, it can be a real pain in the ass when you simply can't walk out and buy a part. Or even pick up the phone and order one.

Luckily I actually like that sort of challenge, making parts, real hot rodding, but it wears a bit thin when you can't get the basic simple stuff so easily. I can't make spark plugs for instance.......

Love what you did with the top, very inventive.
I've been gathering parts to build a 26 Model T roadster pick-up and will probably steal your idea.
You've put together a great ride. Years ago a buddy and I ran a tunnel ram on the street in a 55 Chevy. We ran it at the strip also in the low 13's. We ran a pair of pretty small Holleys. I think they were about 350CF or so. A tunnel ram is a great look.

    Have fun

After battling with overheating for a long time I bit the bullet and fitted an aluminum rad, with a big electric fan. it's been 100+ in the shade here for several months now.

I need to make a new radiator cowl as the old one doesn't fit any more.....

Well, it looks like Photobucket have fucked me, decided there is no third party sharing unless a subscription is bought, so all my hundreds of photo links are now dead!

Well, just a few pics left to show for the five years I put into my hot rod. It has been sold now, I’ve left the Philippines, wife and I are getting divorced, she is keeping the dream house over there and I am back in cold and wet England.

I could never believe things can go from being so good, to so crappy in such a short time.

It was fun while it lasted.

Well, sorry to hear that man, I never did get the chance to come over and meet you in the Philippines like we discussed.
I enjoyed keeping track of your build and always thought I'd get to see it in the flesh one day.
Sad, you have had to sell it and move on.
Divorce, seems to be the way of the world these days.
I hope you can resettle and make a full recovery and you don't have to work too many more years because of it...
    Best wishes, Russ.

I actually retired almost two years ago, took it early, at 55, thought I’d got it made, pension, dream house, cool hot rod, nice workshop...... but things were not to be.

Like you say Russ, divorce seems to be the way of the world now.

But I still have a house, and workshop in the U.K., and I will get over this, I will built again. It may take time, but I’ll be back at it some day.

Stay positive and we may still get to meet up.
I have a trip in mind to the Isle of Wight amongst other places in the not too distant future depending on kids and college etc.
I'm also retired and my wife has plenty of leave available plus lots of flyer points, so it is just circumstances for now that are holding us back...
I've also been inspired by the Guernsey Boy model A couple build on the HAMB and it seems there are a few hot rod guys over there as well...

Your shop looks good, I hope you can find a project for it soon.
    Russ.

Trying hard to keep positive, hoping my ‘mojo’ will return soon.

All my life there has been a mental list of projects I want to build some day, but right now I can’t muster any enthusiasm for any of them.

Sorry you've been going through a tough patch. The sun will come up again tomorrow, keep after it and before you know it you'll be right back in the middle of it again.
Sometimes you just have to suck it up and pretend to be happy and upbeat. Heck, after a time you might find out that it works and you actually are feeling pretty good.

Good luck to you. I can't wait to see your next project
