Mustang ii gm metric brakes

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by THE CUT MASTER, Feb 15, 2010.

  1. I want to run gm metric rotors and gm metric calipers, any recommendations where to buy the bearings and brackets, or a good price on a complete kit

Hate to say it, but Speedway is probably your best bet on the brackets. I always use my local bearing warehouse so that I can control the quality of the bearings I install- I've had too many problems with Chinese and Mexican bearings. If possible, I would recommend cast brackets for this set up. I have had problems with fabricated brackets being just a hair out of square, and flexing.

  3. Speedway only offers 11" gm intermediate rotor/caliper not metric

Buy GM metric disks (10 1/2") and use NAPA bearing sets. I will have to get the numbers tomorrow. They are standard NAPA bearing set numbers. I got my info from the Welder Series disk brake caliper adapter kit for these disks and calipers.

I used Welder Series #2136 Mustang/Pinto disc brake kit.

Rotors are for 82-87 Camaro or equivalent and 82-92 Camaro or equivalent calipers.

Remove the GM race from the rotors and install the race from the bearing set.
NAPA sets are 12 & 13. NAPA grease seal # 48011. Dust covers are NAPA #13977
