You mentioned that you have some other pictures and material that you are going through. If you by chance run across the motor numbers on that Indian in your papers, you can tell the exact year by the single letter that is stuck in the middle of those numbers, (example 40B001.) B is 1910, C is 1911, and D is 1912.

  2. Never saw the bike or ever will.:( My grandfather was riding it across Wheeling Creek back in the mid teens and it fell into about 15' of deep water:oops:. I don't know where it was but Wheeling Creek floods several times a year so it is long ago washed away no doubt.:( There are pictures of locomotives, cars, street scenes, a baseball game, people, all in the early teens to mid 20's. I hope ha can get them printed so we can possibly tell where some of the places were, like the baseball game as it looks possibly early professional.

I would expect you to smash someone's guitar up against the wall in the next pic.
You kind of looked like a cross between D-Day and Bluto from the Animal House movie:)
    KILLER BIKE THOUGH

These pictures aren't the best, they are pictures of pictures. This first batch are old family pictures. The first one is my wife's dad Alfred Heyne on a 1937 Flathead during WWII. 2nd picture is of my great uncle Marvin Fuller with 1914 Harley-Davidson. The last pics are my dad Lynn Briggs and his 1948 Indian Chief.

The rest of these pictures are bikes I have owned over the years. Again not good pictures because they are pictures of pictures.

Turns out my recently acquired Scout was owned by an Indian dirt racer of some note, Eddie Bratton. Here's an old photo of the bike.

Yep, cool. Sometime in the late '80s I bought one of the first FXRPs to come across the CHP auction block. While it was still full dressed and black and white I would drop my young step daughter off at school with it. To see her run up to her jealous friends was a sight.

Is that a Pan with a Shovel top end?

My first Harley. Me and my two pals rented this house and terrorized the town on our Sportsters. Used to invite the whole bar over after closing time. Eviction followed.

^^ You seldom see scenes like these anymore. I had a buddy whose parents would head
out of town most summer weekends which resulted in their driveway and backyard
looking like a used muscle car lot. The buckets and sponges were out, the doors were
open so we could listen to "Ten Years After" or the "Woodstock" soundtrack, and the
six packs were on ice. Kool photo.
