My tape measure. Been carrying one in my pocket since the 70's. If I'm in the garage, it's in the garage.

    My SOFA ...:)
I work a little, then lay down a LOT.

I find that IF I lay down and think about the problem ... things go better than rushing in and gong wide open.

  8. my fire place is the most important thing in the shop

  9. My trouble light is the most important tool. Without it, it would be as dark as the inside of a cow in there. Can't use most of those other tools without being able to see them.

Stupid Question.... one wouldn't matter without the other. Lift with out a hand tools (also how are you going to lower the lift without the safety air latch release ie needs a compressor) , Air compressor without air tools , Welder's without grinders, wrenches without srewdrivers... all worthless without something else...

I did like the search function suggestion... I would call that the least used tool when it should be the most used tool for some.

On a serious note....I recently bought a throatless shear. I don't know how I made it without one.

For what I have right now in my garage, I would say the two vises I have mounted on my workbench.

Seriously, it's like a third hand and it was the very first tool I bought when I finally got my own garage.\

Lets see, the welder needs a grinder to clean off the metal, and electric to operate.
A grinder needs either an air compressor and the compressor needs electric to run or an extension cord and the extension cord needs electric to be useful.
Need lights to be able to see, lights need electric.
I need heat (I'm a wimp), the heater in the shop needs electric to run the fan so it can distribute the warm air.

Guess that means, besides me, the most valuable tool in the garage is electric. Gene

Compressor to run air tools and a welder - in that order. Opens up a whole new world of things you can make or modify

Alright, maybe it's a regional thing but what the hell are alligator pliers? Needle nose?

I vote for my lift. It's a used mid-rise but it sure makes life easier for a lot of jobs.

Not to get OT but I once replaced a broken fan belt with a piece of clothesline rope.
Made a tight square knot, cut the ends close.....

It's too difficult to pick just one.........but after working on the floor for 25 years, my lift is very high on my favorite list! Although it is useless without my welder's, grinder, torches, compressor, handtools etc.....
