It has seemed pretty quick to me Aswell, was expecting it to take longer, it is only one side so far though, next side should be quicker. But yeah a fair bit of cussing.

Updates from this weekends progress, got the other side prepped and got the quarter tacked on in much the same fashion as the first side, started welding it in but have been busy with work and kept getting call outs. Hopefully be able to finish welding it tomorrow and tidy up a couple little things. Won't bore you with repeat photos from this side as its pretty much a mirror image of how I did the other side, just a couple pictures, and one of the dies I used to do the return edge

Welded right hand side quarter on and sanded up, needs to be hammered up but it's officially a 2 door now!

Trailer mud guards? Brilliant. They'd be fairly cheap wouldn't they?

Yeah pretty cheap, forgot exactly how much they were because I got them years ago for tubs on an off topic car. Pretty sure it was only about $100 each. They are almost the perfect size. Just have to trim about 1-1/2" off one end. And make up some flat half round sections to weld on the sides.

Don't keep reminding me! Haha, sounds like heaps of time but winter I'm working away most of the time so I only get one weekend a month and some weeknights to work on it.

Got a little rust repair done today in the top of the left wheel arch, welded up a few little bits and what not and dad started to help me hammer up and shrink the drivers side. Still a lot of work in that department.

Yeah it's handy having a dad that's been doing this stuff for 40+ years. Up untill this stage I was pretty right by myself but when it comes to final metal finishing Its nice to be able to get a pro to do it!

    Thanks guys

Been getting a bit done but have been flat out at work and doing heaps of overtime so haven't been able to get it done as fast as I would of liked to.

Got one tub tacked together and fitted in tonight and welded up the patch panel repair on the left hand quarter, but ran out of gas, working away this weekend so nothing is gonna happen to it for those 3 days/nights.

Also we have some front fender sections and head light bezels from a 53 Buick at work for another car and I taped it on yesterday and gave it a quick black rattle can black job to get the idea of what it would look like, looks pretty rad.

Thanks for the feed back guys! Got back working on it tonight after working away on the weekend, nearly got the left hand tub all made and tacked together. Hopefully fully weld up both tubs tommorow night and tack them in for the last time.

Still a long way to go and only 3 months untill chopped!!!

Nice one man, tubs look slick and those Buick lights rule.

I reckon the stock Chev fender brows and headlights are a major weak point with the design of the whole front (too bug-eyed and flat) put 56 olds on mine and like your Buick mock up the extra peak made such a difference to the lines of the car

Cheers man, yeah I don't mind the stock front End but the extra peak does make a huge difference.

Bit more progress in the last few days, got tubs all made up and cleaned up and primed with an epoxy sealer. Got one tub tacked in for the last time. Still working on the left hand side quarter, need to get it out a bit more before I can weld the tub in on that side.
