G'day. Been lurking around the HAMB a while now so o thought I'd start a build thread for my 51 chev 4 door. Long term plans are to two door it and chop it but for now I'm just doing up the suspention and drive train. When I first got it. It had been restored but not very well, but there was no rust in it. Got it road worthy and registered and drove around for a few weeks like that. Then I lowered it a heap just buy flipping some leafs, flipping the rear shackles and putting in some 3" blocks. And cutting the springs in the front. Shaved the door handles welded the seam in the bonnet(originally a two piece bonnet) shaved all the badges and what not off it and painted everything but the roof in a flat black sealer, got some chrome smoothies and Coker white walls Also frenched the head lights and took all the over riders and stuff off Then I frenched in some 50 ford shoebox tail lights(flipped vertically) and that's kinder where I was up to until the other day. And tonight started pulling everything down including the stock 216 and 3 speed. To put in Holden front suspension with disk brakes and a small block chev with a munsie 4 speed. Also going to use an XG falcon diskbrake rear end and just notch the rear of the chassis for clearance. I will post more pictures of the work mentioned above when Im at work (faster Internet) Any tips or tricks or sugestions will be appreciated!!
