Awesome time today. Bad Penny and I went up to Fitchburg Airport for the Orange Dragway Reunion. It's a much better location than Orange Airport. So many great cars to look at. Wicked fun to watch them run too. I shot a bunch of pics but didn't even make it to the pits before my camera battery died.

Here's Ken Makuch's XF/GR record setting flathead powered roadster. Ken and his two sons shattered the old mark of 153 with a 160 mph run. Great job guys! See the link..

You guys that left early with the rain.... it did stop soon after, and they did finish the last class; the yellow 58 vette was the winner.

I hope to get some cell vids from my son and a friend; Dave50's coupe racing several cars: Pete's coupe, an A coupe with a 348/409, and also the car that was way sideways, almost into the barrier..recovered and then promptly laid rubber to the finish line


I never got to see the car show; too much racing stuff to see.


My son and friend are hooked, and will be racing there next year.

 

Yes the rain,got to love driving home in a topless roadster in the rain,lol.This was one of the best events Ive been to in a long time.Also great pictures guys.

Thanks for posting these pictures, even though it pains me to look at them, as I was stuck at work.

 

Sorry I did not get to meet you also. It was a fun day. I left as soon as I saw the clouds move in. Got about a mile away and it rained hard, but only for a few minutes. Driving in the rain with slicks is no fun! Sun came back out and had a nice ride home.

Great pictures and the cars are as good as any in the country! Loved the satin blue Willy's and the black '34 roadster!

 

Great show for sure. The wife, kids and I had a blast. Thanks for posting the pics, good to catch up with so many friends at such a cool event. Nothing like flag start drags at an active airstrip.
Hopefully next year the Buick will be back in action for some fun!!

 

And the 55 wins! You beat my buddy Joe in the vette! It was great having Steve Magnante calling the races! What a blast!

 

It was a great time today! Wish they didn't shut it down early! I had a blast!

Hey JimV, great seeing you today, beating on your car. That thing is fast! You should've lined up against Dave50, I bet it would've been close.

Oh yea, it works....but when Dave reads this and sees THAT run, he will be pissed. That guy left WAY early before the flagger dropped the flag. Dave demanded a rematch, and they let them go at it again.

Dave set the record straight, and the 63 went onto it's trailer for the day
