DeSotos tend to elicit love from their owners. I learned to drive in my Dad's '56 Firedome with pushbuttons. The first car I bought myself was a '57 Fireflite w/341 Hemi and pushbutton Torqueflite.....a convertible, no less.

I love them, they're great cars! I would love to have a '57 Fireflight. They were gorgeous.

My favorite uncle had a '55 Firedome project when I was a kid that I was obsessed with. I would go to his garage and beg for rides in it, and he kept telling me it wasn't finished yet. I was 9 when he got it, I only ever got to take one ride in it, he finished it when I was 12, He took me for a ride in it finally and it is one of my fondest memories of him. He died about a month later.

I ended up finding mine down here through a friend, same year and model as my uncle's, and I snatched it up. She's not done yet, I just got her back in November, still a long way to go, but she's by far the favorite of my cars.

when you get given mopar stuff for cheap and/or free, you learn to love it pretty quick;). But seriously, gotta love the robust engineering and far out styling that could only be from Chrysler Corp.

Hey thanks. It's real nice local San Fernando Valley low-mileage (47k) original car. I just lowered it and put a set of wheels I got from Richie Valles on it.
