I'd try to find an earlier sleeve for the transmission, that has 7/8" threads on it, and use a normal early Chevy cable.

$132? wow....I guess that's why I suggested using some common parts that you can get cheap

  8. I have done this before - from memory my factory cable fitted right up to the Autometer speedo.

bobs speedometer service in mich can also help you . they can also give you a calibration box so the speedo reads correctly for different gear and tire sizes . its pretty slick all you need to do is attach a cable with a flag to count the number of revolutions , roll the car 52'9" give them the count and your speedo will be spot on ! they're number is 810-632-0400 . hope this helps

I can make the speedometer cable and housing up for you no problem, just give me a length.
