Thanks. I have heard that story. Scary stuff. I was referring to using them as a ornament like they have a race car or something. They really look stupid on cars that have no business having them. Just like the fake fuel injection units that fit over a carb. Most guys don't even hook fuel lines to the joke tank. Your not in the race car club if it's not a race car.
Well I can’t remember if I posted mine yet or not , if I did I’m sorry for the double post . I have to share mine is not a Moon tank , it’s 2 aluminum frying pans and a rolled piece of sheet welded together . Call me Mr ElCheapo !
I'm in the process of fitting McGee injection to my Aussie '60 Holden sedan. Moon tanks are scarce in Australia, and new prices are horrible. Decided to go the redneck route and build my own. 9kg propane tank (brand new one) with the valve removed and plugged. Valve collar cut off. Primary and secondary return line AN nipples fitted with a splash plate under them to stop fuel aeration. Another AN nipple for the vent, and one down-under for the fuel outlet. Welded in a fuel filler neck from an old Holden tank. Pair of steel legs underneath so I can mount to the bumper irons. Cheers, Harv
